This course evaluates the different approaches to social policy in comparative context. It deals particularly with the problem of which policies would be most effective in eliminating poverty and facilitating development, within the context of affordability. It then sets about exploring the answer to the question: What are the appropriate social policies for developing countries generally and South Africa specifically during the 21st century?
