Welcome to two new scholarship holders!
In 2020, two new scholarship holders commenced their studies at our Centre! Out of about 500 applicants the selection committee chose Kenechukwu Ikebuarko from Nigeria for the PhD Development Studies and Eric Nordjo from Ghana for the MA Public Administration. Both were welcomed by our coordinator at UWC, Freda Philander.

Call for the 2025 intake (November) of the PhD IDS at the IEE/Bochum (Germany)
The Call for applications for the 2025 intake of the PhD in International Development Studies is open until 31st March 2025.
Eligible candidates can also apply for a DAAD GSSP scholarship.

Applications have to be submitted via an online platform. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
DAAD InRegion Scholarship opportunities at CDR
Candidates from Sub-Sahara Africa can apply for a DAAD InRegion Scholarships for Studies at the South African - German Centre of Development Research. Scholarships are available for the Master in Development Studies and the PhD in Development Studies, both offered by the Institute for Social Development of UWC, partner of the CDR.
Application deadline is 27 April 2023. More information is available via the DAAD call for applications.
